Calgary Spartan Wrestling – 2024/25 Communication plan

Hi everyone, for communication this year we will be relying on our social website as a digital bulletin board. Last year we had some suspicious activity with weird emails joining up so I will be keeping the membership closed off. I do have plans to make this system more robust in the future but for all intents and purposes over the next season it will just be a bulletin board. You will not need to sign up for a membership to view the activity feed. 

Simply visit www.spartanwrestling.social and I will make sure any updates go up there. Our goal is that it becomes a habit that athlete’s begin to check this before leaving for practice in case something comes up. With our two location system this year it shouldn’t be as much of an issue as it was last year when the gyms were double-booked, we can simply, in theory, drive down the street to the other schools instead of canceling practice. I will be sending out reminders for tournament registration as well through here. 

Secondly, We will be using the Instagram account to get any updates out there. This is a little less reliable because the algorithm does not always work in our favor so we will use it as a just in case method on top of our social website and email list.

Lastly, our main method of communication will be through our email list. I will be using an email service this year so you might have to mark the first couple of messages as not spam that you receive in order for them to come through but this will be our primary source to get tournament and camp registration information out there.
