Just an update, Our official start date for the North Program will be Monday October 20th. If our wrestling room at Sir Winston Churchill is not set up at that time I have arranged an alternative location for us to use at a friend’s new gym near Barlow trail and 32nd ave NE.
Monday/Wednesday
Tykes/Kids Elementary (K-Grade 5) 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Bantam/CSG Girls (Grade 6 – 12) 7:15 – 8:30 pm
Bantam/CSG Boys (Grade 6 – 12) 8:15 – 9:30 pm
AAWA Membership Update
I have received an email that we were accepted onto the platform however they still have not put our club on the club list today. AAWA and Myself have emailed the 2M software company multiple times to get this resolved. Hopefully soon, sorry for the inconvenience.
Note: Athletes that wrestled last year have a valid membership until December 31.
When this does get released a few notes; Leave the Coach and NCCP number blank as athletes. You do not need to enter this information. If you have mistakenly already purchased an independent membership, Heather at AAWA can fix this on her end AFTER we have been added to the system. It is the responsibility of the athletes/parents to email her AFTER this is resolved on the 2M system. (info@aawa.ca)
Tournament and Event Schedule
I am almost done with the tournament and event list so that should be sent out by this weekend for everyone. It is very comprehensive and took a long time to make so I will not be replying to any emails asking where or when events are this year after the information is sent out. It is the responsibility of the parents and athletes to read the emails, posts, circle events calendar to find this information.
In House events
We will be hosting a few new events this year. These will be mandatory attendance for the older athletes to help run. This includes refereeing, scorekeeping, time keeping, set up and clean up. These events are;
- Spartan Cup Elementary Series quad meets (Bantam, CSG and Adult athletes must help)
- Spartan Duals (Kids and Adult athletes must help)
- Spartan Invitational Tournament (All Kids, Bantam, CSG and Adult athletes must book the entire weekend to be available to help run this multi-provincial tournament run smoothly. If all goes to plan this tournament will have 500-800 athletes competing and we will need all hands on deck)
These events will help us fundraise for future expenses for the club and provide at home training opportunities for our athletes bringing in top competition for us to compete against and train with long term. We currently have teams across 5 different provinces interested in our tournament given the time of year it is being held.
